Children's Advocacy Centers (CACs) provide a safe and child friendly environment for children who have been abused and their families during the investigative process. CACs, located throughout Louisiana, employ trained forensic interviewers who are responsive to the needs of children. CACs promote the coordination of intervention services by bringing together professionals and agencies who work as a multi-disciplinary team during the investigative process. This team proceeds with the best interests of the child in mind, providing assistance and protection without causing further harm during this very difficult time.

CACLA is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to support the development, growth, communication between, and continuation of quality children's advocacy centers in the state of Louisiana. CACLA members ensure that every abused child referred to their programs has a comfortable, child-friendly environment for interviews and other services, reducing the trauma to child victims of abuse.
CACLA offers assistance to CACs in Louisiana by:
- Providing technical assistance
- Providing training opportunities
